Re: vaginal infection...Clarification Please

I am reassured by the doctor's words saying that I should be ok after being treated for a staph aureus vaginal infection...but I just want to know if this would have caused Toxic Shock Syndrome had I not caught it right away (I had no symptoms...my gyno caught it during a routine checkup). Does a staph aureus vaginal infection always lead to TSS? Or are they more common infections? How likely is a recurrence?
