In September 2002 I stopped taking birth control pills after 4 years (age 46.6) Had a regular period 1 week later. One month later started severe hot flashes. FSH testing showed level at 74 (menopausal). Suffered through several months and hot flshes disappeared. I have felt fine since and period never returned. A little young for menopause but thats ok. Late April experienced very light spotting of brown blood for 5 days. Went to the Dr and she did another FSH test which again was high (74). She was concerned and recommended a biopsy. Is this the first thing to try for a diagnosis or should an ultrasound be first. What are the chances of endometrial cancer in someone my age and with these symptoms? I addition, one year ago had an abnormal pap. Followup pap 6 months later was normal
