Ann, It's easier than you think to switch doctors. I've done this several times, either because I've relocated, or because I receive poor service from the doctor's staff, or I don't like the doctor. Try asking friends or family who they like, and you can research the doctor's background on a website sponsored by the medical licensing board in your state. Or, go to webmd.com- there's a search function where you can put in criteria for what you want in a doctor: years of experience, board certified or not, gender, etc. Webmd also has links to the state licensing boards. If you want to have your records sent to another doctor, you'll need to write a letter to your present doctor's office. There should not be a charge to do this if the records are sent to another doctor (known as "prefessional courtesy." Good luck!
