I've had probably around 100 transvaginal ultrasounds (years and years of infertility). Talk to the technician before hand and explain. It will make it both easier for you and the technician. Keep in mind that the probe should be covered with a probe cover (or condom) and gel (to help transmission of the sound waves for the ultrasound). Those two items should make it easier to insert as well. I personally think a pap smear is worse than a transvaginal ultrasound!
