Just because lots of women use the pill/patch for birth control doesn't mean that that is its only purpose (as you know). It sounds like you're asking for the exact same thing with a different name and reputation. The pill is used all over the world for things other than birth control. I'm not sure how to tell you to solve the problem with your religion, but if you are using the pill for other side effects such as a irregular period, then I'd think for your religion that you wouldn't be breaking any rules. Look at the inhibition of ovulation that makes the pill a form of contraceptive a "side effect" to your "hormone therapy for your periods."
