I had problems with my period being heavy and painful for years. Usually it was controlled with Ibuprofen. I also have uterine fibroid. My periods never lasted more than 7 days. This last period is continuing for 10 days which never happened to me before. I have a couple of questions. I had a lot of stress during last month. Could it be a reason for the long bleeding? I went to my gynecologist yesterday. He did pelvic exam, pap smear and blood test for FSH and other hormones. I am going to have ultrasound today. My doctor gave me 10 pills of Provera (10mg). Can somebody explain how Provera can help in my situation? Do I need to take it for 10 days or I can stop if the period ends?
