most Docs only check TSH, and you may find some resistance in getting that test done, but just ask if you can have Free T4, Free T3, and TSH. If she has an understanding that 1.5 is a good place for your thyroid to be, she may be open to testing the others. If your FT4 is low, you may need an adjustment in your medication. I had my TSH checked back in DEC, and it was 2.97 after being on .050 of levoxyl for several months. I told the DR that when I was pregnant, my levels were at 2.0 and I would like to be there or lower, so he upped me to .075....I am now down around .90, so I am thinking I may have to alternate .050 and .075 to see if I can get it around 1.5. FYI, it was only after I went on the .075 that my FT4 finally went to 1.4....up from 1, which is where it had been for a long time. If you would like to talk outside of this forum, my email is lisamgz65@yahoo.com...It's interesting to talk to other hypo people and see what their experiences have been, and what symptoms they have experienced.
