I'm a bit surprised a doctor would advise this, since any type of Vitamin E has only marginal success in relieving hot flashes. Supposedly, the natural Vitamin E is somewhat less marginal than the synthetic. It can't hurt you- maybe the placebo effect will help. I'm straining to remember my chemistry, but I think the a-tocopherol structure of natural Vitamin E is somewhat different than the synthetic, or perhaps the body absorbs it slightly differently.
