cervical cancer prognosisFrom: Ivan (anonymous@obgyn.net)Tue, 8 Apr 2003 01:23:22 -0500 (CDT)
Hi All, My mother (57 years old now) had been diagnosed with the cervical cancer Stage Ia two years ago. She has been treated immediately with the external and internal radiotherapy and a 4 sessions of kemo. Everything went well, the cancer has disappeared and she is feeling very well now. She has the check-up every 4 months and apart from that she lives normal life. Would someone be able to give me some more information on the further prognosis? What to expect and what not to expect... What happens if the cancer appears again on the cervix? What if it spreads? What treatment options will be available to her if the cancer returns? Thanks a lot.
-- Ivan
