Thanks so much for the website in response to someone elses question Joyce--helped me understand a little more what my Dr. has been saying. He thinks some of my problems could be due to perimenopause but says it doesn't explain the pain I've had. For Dr. or anyone who can give me a place to go for info: I've had a mild ache in my right ovary with no paticular pattern (that I'm aware of) since about the time I started my periods around age 12 or 13. It usually only lasted about 1 or 2 days but when I had problems at age 31 with an enlarged ovary and what they thought may have been a ruptured cyst (even though I was on BC) it came back and lasted several months. It was back to the occasional mild ache until last Dec. when I had increasing pain (missed total of 8 days work and ended up in the emergency room for pain) that peaked in mid Dec. then dropped off again and is now a continual dull ache every day (varies in intensity). Could hormone changes due to perimen. or first time use of birth control (only used for 2 yrs from age 30 to32) cause aggrivation of some sort of ovary or tube defect or problem I've had since childhood? Odd question and probably unanswerable but any ideas or feedback would help a great deal. Thanks in advance!
