Abdominal muscle weakness post laparoscopyFrom: TAMMY (anonymous@obgyn.net)Wed, 2 Apr 2003 13:15:44 -0600 (CST)
Hello, I am in my 5th week of recovering from a laparoscopy which I feel was not needed and I wish I never had it. I am having a difficult recovery..but I am getting there..Thank God. One of my trouble spots now is that after the first couple of days I had extreme pain from the Co2 Gas..it was all over my body and big time on my right side below my ribs...When I would cry..The pain got so much worse that it felt like my insides on the right side were sucking in! Almost like the wind was getting knocked out of me and that I was being punched or stabbed there. Anyway..about3 weeks into recovery..and now up to my 5th week, I feel like I have a pulled muscle in that area..my muscles get tight which go to my back, and I get the abdominal muscle spasms. I do walk and stretch but I do see that heat and rest rejuvinates the muscles..when will this muscle weakness and Spasms go away and what is the treatment for this? Does anyone here have anything similar to this? Thanks, I look forward to your replies. Take Care. Tammy
