Hi Phyllis, Was your surgery recent? I was just wondering because if you are in your late 30's - early 40's I would say that it is perimenopause. It still might be even if you are younger. I have ORS (ovarian remnant syndrome). This is when a small piece of ovary is left behind unintentionally after attempted removal of an ovary. I don't have a uterus anymore, but still have cyclical endometriosis pain when I ovulate. Did they leave the 1/2 ovary behind on purpose? If so, then it is called having a residual ovary, vs, what I have. A small piece of an ovary can function like a whole one. If you are still young, I would think you should be having periods monthly or almost monthly. Have you had your FSH and estradiol levels checked? I would suggest that because you may indeed be perimenopausal even if you are young. I am in my 40's and with the exception of the time when I was on birthcontrol pills to try and control cysts, I was ovulating every month. If you are younger than late 30's, I would suggest you do make an appointment with a doc to discuss this. If you aren't making enough estrogen, that puts you at risk for things like osteoporosis.
