Lower Left Abdominal Pain - Scar Tissue following Tubal Ligation?

I am 47. Over a year ago I noticed a slight pain in my lower left abdomen. In July of last year I miscarried and then had a tubal ligation. Around November the pain in my lower left abdomen started to get much worse. I have since had two ultrasounds, each time reporting only a small follicular cyst. I have also had a barium enema, because I noticed some changes in my bowel function (very narrow stools), which was negative, and it seems my bowels are back to functioning just fine right now. The pain often pinches my left leg groin area and sometimes resonates down my left leg. This is not severe pain, just irritational. I also often have quite a distinct throbbing pain about where my left ovary is. My question: My doctor says this pain must be due to scarring or endometriosis. I have no difficulty with extra blood or pain at my period. And this pain really did start before my operation. Do you think I should have a laporoscopy to inspect my ovaries, or do you think that my doctor is probably right on. Also, if I do have scar tissue and have the laporoscopy, doesn't that make me vulnerable to more scar tissue? Thank you so much for your help.
