ovulation

I've read the information sheets that come with birth control pills, and they say that if you miss a pill, you may become pregnant if you have sex within the seven days afterwards.

After reading that, I have a few questions.

1. If a pill or two is missed, can ovulation occur immediately, or will it occur at what would have been the normal time during the cycle if pills were not taken at all?

2. Is there a chance of pregnancy ONLY if intercourse occurs in the seven days after forgetting a pill, or could having sex the night before forgetting a pill also affect chances of pregnancy?

Thanks, Rachel
