Not Lam but have similar question-to Dr. Lapidus or other MD

Back in January I had UTI symptoms right after my husband and I had intercourse using a condom and KY jelly. After a day of urgency and frequency, I noticed a tiny bit of bloody mucus when I wiped myself after urinating. My period started three days later (as it was supposed to). I called my gyn anyway, who said not to worry (I had a normal pelvic exam and pap smear about two weeks before all this happened, and a normal pelvic exam about a month later when I went to have some vaginitis symptoms checked). My question is, what would cause this?

Thanks for your time!
