About two weeks ago I was put on antibiotics for a sinus infection, the Rx: side effects listed something about it affecting my ortho tricyclen and that I should use a second form of birth control, however I didn't and I was wondering what the chance is that I may have gotten pregnant. I still have two weeks till my period. Thanks, TRHulfy@aol.com I am not a doctor, but I was in the exact same situation last month. I have been on ortho tricyclen for the past 4 years and I took antibiotics for a sinus infection last month. I went crazy trying to find info about the antibiotics and the BC pills. Every doctor, nurse, and article I read said that the antibiotics usually do not affect the birth control. The times that I had sex were right in the middle of my supposed ovulation and I did not get pregnant. I am not trying to give you expert advice, I just thought a little piece of mind might be comforting. Hope all works out well for you!
