Switching from Depo Shot to Ortho Tri-Cyclen before 12 weeks...period question??From: Ab (anonymous@obgyn.net)Tue, 25 Mar 2003 07:45:42 -0600 (CST)
I got the Depo Shot at the beginning of January, but had constant spotting so I was put back on Ortho Tri-Cyclen a month ago to stop the spotting. It work, but I am done with my pack of pills and am just curious about when to expect my period. In other words, the 12 weeks for the Depo shot technically won't be up until next week even though I ended a pack of pills this past weekend, so do I expect my period then or should it be coming like it normally would after ending a pack of pills? Even though I was put on the pill during the middle of the Depo course, are the effects of the Depo Shot still there? Or does the pill override the shot so to speak? Thanks for any thoughts on this!
