Confused about hormone bloodwork- Question for the physiciansFrom: anne (anonymous@obgyn.net)Fri, 21 Mar 2003 14:21:25 -0600 (CST)
Thank you in advance for explaining this to me. I am soon to be 54. I had a supracervical hyster in 1997 wih one ovary also removed. Two years later I thought I was in menopause and went on hormone replacement for 2 years. I have been off hormones for about 6 mo. and recently had my bloodwork done. FSH 48, Beta Estradiol 187, Sex binding Globulin 58, Free Test Direct 1.3. My Gyn said the ovary is still producing estrogen and the FSH is in the menopausal range. 3/99 FSH 71.2, 6/98 FSH 24.2, 1997 FSH 57 Jan.,2000-Beta Estradiol 91, 3/99 Beta E-30, 1997 BetaE-57 I'm confused. Am I going through menopause or where am I at? Post hyster, I spotted each mo. on a reg. basis for 2 years. After I came off hormones , I did this for 2 mo. and have had nothing the past 4 mo. Anne
