Mirena IUS

I have just been reading about the Mirena IUS (Intra Uterine System) and have a question...

Is it absolutely necessary that women who use it have had a child or children in the past? It says that it is for women who have already had a child or children and don't plan on having anymore for a couple of years.

I have no children am on the pill but think this IUS would be so much easier than having to take a pill everyday! And what's better yet is that it's the Synthetic Progestin and NO estrogen which is good because I have Endometriosis.

Is this something I should/could talk to my Gyn about?

Thank you.
