Ovcon 35 vs. Estrostep FE

In the latter part of last year I started getting bad about taking my BCP's. I started skipping here and there and all of a sudden (October) I stopped getting my period (although on the pill - just not regularly). I asked my doctor if I could go off the pill in November, since I'm not sexually active and why be on hormones (note that I'd been on Estrostep FE for 4 years without complications until I started messing around with not taking them properly.) SO...

I go off the pill and STILL don't get my period (possibly also due to a TREMENDOUS amount of stress (i.e., good friend who's 25 having cancer, job stress, relationship stress, physical stress - I'm very active).

In that time period - being off the pill, I've gained a lot of weight and it's miserable. So, 2 weeks ago I went in to see my doctor and he put me on Ovcon 35 - said that what might have also happened is that the low estrogen pill was too low for me. He gave me the choice, said I could go back on Estrostep FE if I wanted, but I just said ok.

WELL...in the meantime, my breasts are enormous! Aside from that, am breaking out like CRAZY! Not sure what to do here...wait it out and then change back to Estrostep next month, when this pack's up? What are the differences between the two pills and is this making any sense why I'm gaining weight? It's just awful. I'd never had a problem with weight until this.

I greatly appreciate anyone's advice.

Thanks!
