She say's that the fibroids increase my likelihood to miscarry. I am concerned about how to deal with this as I do not want to stop teaching- and would prefer not to stop at all, but obviously don't want to be foulhardy. I have read up on this and the literature I've read say's that only large fibroids can cause miscarriage. Can you please give me some advise on this matter. I have been teaching my classes since I have found this out, but have been only instructing, and not doing much participating, but am quite nervous about it.

I would ask your OB(I hope you have one), not a GP. When I was pregnant I had numerous fibroids, including a 5 cm inch fibroid blocking the birth canal. My OB had no problem with me exercising, and I went full term, delivering a very healthy baby. The exercise during pregnancy kept me strong and healthy too. Fibroids of any size MAY grow during a pregnancy, causing pre-mature labor, but that has NOTHING to do with exercise. (mine didn't grow). It's just my opinion,(I'm not a doctor) but I think your GP is fundamentally quite wrong, and I'd look for a new one if I were in your shoes.
