4-week post op hysterectomy questionFrom: Cathy (anonymous@obgyn.net)Fri, 7 Mar 2003 16:13:45 -0600 (CST)
I am at the 4-week post op from a TAH. I've had no problems thus far.....except for a bump on my arm that seems to be underneath the skin. It's not raised and I can't see it. I can only feel it when I rub that area with my finger. The bump is at the site where the IV was in my arm in the hospital. The nurse told me that the site had became infiltrated and then she removed the IV. It didn't hurt at the time and I forgot about it. Now I've notice that the area has a small bump underneath the skin that's not raised and it doesn't hurt unles I push on it very hard. Is this anything that I should bring to a dr's attention? Will this little bump go away or does it need treatment of some sort? Just don't want to ignore something that could turn into a major issue. I looked up info on infiltrated IV's and it sounds rather scarey. Thanks, Cathy
