Hymen and exam issueFrom: tim (anonymous@obgyn.net)Thu, 6 Mar 2003 07:15:38 -0600 (CST)
Both myself and my wife too be (next month) are virgins (in all senses - we have only kissed). I am in my late twenties and she is just out of teen years. In discussing B/C and other wedding plans we have both scheduled doctors appointments. She however is afraid of going to see OBGYN due to her being a virgin. She has been told by others that the doctor will break her hymen when doing her exam. I know it is emotionaly very important to her to "maintain" this until our wedding night. (However I know that this is not "true" indicator of wither she is a virgin our not - I trust her implicitly). She does use tampons but is she her hymen is intact. Would it be best for her to just get a regular physical and then after the honeymoon get a complete exam? I want the best for her both emotionally as well as physically.
