Spotting still

First I want to thank you for having this site as I now know I am not the only one with spotting problems. Now I have had spotting off and on the past few years. I have had every test you can imagaine (biopsys and been checked by a specialist) and have had a pap test done every year since I was 20 years old...I am not 44 all were fine. My last pap test was done in December and came back normal. Could you please explain why I get the occasional spotting? Is this hormonal or perhaps I am getting ready for menopause? Is this a situataion where "everytime" I have spotting I need to see my doctor?

Thank you in advance
