Asymptomatic endometrial polyps - post menopausalFrom: Diane (anonymous@obgyn.net)Tue, 4 Mar 2003 19:26:37 -0600 (CST)
During my annual exam I mentioned to my GYN that I had been experiencing slight cramping for the past week. She recommended an ultrasound to rule out any problems with my ovaries. A small endometrial polyp was uncovered in the ultrasound. The cramping ,which was minor has ceased.I'm 53 and post menopausal, with no history of bleeding or discharge. There is no history of cancer in my family and I've not taken HRT. I've had 3 children. My GYN is suggesting hysterscopy D&C surgery. Is there a chance that the polyp will regress if I wait a few months? Is there any diet or lifestyle changes that I can make to facilitate the regress? I'm really hoping to avoid surgery.
