I am a certified pharmacy technician and I am instructed to tell customers that one month is a good amount of time but allow three months if you want to be completely sure. Another rule of thumb I have been told is that each day you take it, is equal to 1% more effectiveness up to 99% (if that makes any sense to you). If it were me, i'd rely on 3 months.
