It also sounds very like gall bladder. Not a doc. I used to wake up in the middle of the night with SHARP pain right between my breasts, on the bone. The only way I could describe it was a 400lb woman wearing 6-inch heals, standing on my breast bone using one heel. I would get sweats/chills and eventually just could not continue like that anymore. Turned out that I had gallstones (1-inch in size). As soon as I had my gall bladder taken out, I never had another attack.
