Complex MeaplasiaFrom: Crystal (anonymous@obgyn.net)Fri, 28 Feb 2003 21:16:30 -0800
I am asking for information regarding what type of cells or what does Complex Meaplasia mean? My mother went to the doctor because of a strong vaginal odor. He took a pap smear. The result came back that there were abnormal cells, very early precancerous. He did a D&C. Sent that to Standford and the result that came back was that it wasn't cancerous, there were abnormal cells but they didn't think that they were a problem. They called it complex meaplasia. Her doctor left it up to her to decide if she wanted a hysterectomy. He said he had never heard of complex meaplasia. Please, if you have any information to clear this up, it would be greatly appreciated. She is 74. Also there is still a very strong odor and discharge. But it is not yeast infection. Is this related to the Complex meaplasia. Thank you! Crystal Knee crystalken@scattercreek.com
