I lost the baby the next day. I was told that this occurs when the embyo doesn't completely implant into the uteran wall. this causes the positive on the home preg test because a small amount od HCG was released into your system but went away after the embryo was sluffed of during menstration. Home preg tests are very sensitive and can detect the smallest amount of HCG in your urine. Like you, my HCG level at 2 weeks was 17. My ob said that women have many miscarriages that they don't know about all of the time. this could be what happen to you.
