Anti-M AntibodyFrom: Melissa (anonymous@obgyn.net)Thu, 27 Feb 2003 17:53:05 -0600 (CST)
I was told by my ob that I have an anti-M antibody in my blood. I am 5 months pregnate and my husbands test results have tested positive for having the M in his blood. I have been told that this could potentually harmful to my unborn child if I start to build antibodies that they could attack the babies blood. I really don't understand how this works. I have had many problems in my prenancy (severe hyperemisis, lost 30lbs, and on TPN 24/7)and my doctor is hesitant on telling me really anything about what could happen. My question is How does this work and what could happen to my baby?
