No periodsFrom: Taneeka (anonymous@obgyn.net)Thu, 27 Feb 2003 10:37:31 -0600 (CST)
I was on Depo Provera for 5 years and had my last injection in April 2002. I immediately began taking BCP's (Ovcon 35-28) in July 2002. I stopped the BCP's in November 2002. In January, I started to bleed, some days heavy, some days light, some spotting. This lasted for 3 weeks straight, when I decided to go to my OB/GYN. She told me that she was going to put me on a drug called Provera to build my lining back up so I could shed it all at once. I took the Provera, and about 4 days later (2/14/03), I started bleeding. The bleeding was very heavy with huge blood clots, and I was filling super tampons in less than an hour. The bleeding has finally stopped (I think) as of 2/25/03. Anyway, my question is how long should I wait to see if I get a period again on my own before going back to the doctor? Will the fact that Provera induced my period this time help my system get back to normal, and cause me to menstruate on my own?
