lower back injuryFrom: Tia (anonymous@obgyn.net)Thu, 27 Feb 2003 10:11:27 -0600 (CST)
Hi. I am a 28yo teacher who gave birth 11 months ago. On Jan 16 of this year, my lower back was injured as I tried to pull 2 fighting students apart. I have been diagnosed w/ torn ligaments, SI Joint Dysfunction, and 2 small disc herniations. I am wondering if this is going to keep me from my wish to become pregnant again within the next year. Assuming some of this pain eventually goes away, could it return, and be even worse, carrying a baby? Will pushing damage me even more? Can disks that were herniated in Jan become even more herniated by pushing in the future, or should they be healed by then? I am very upset about my injury, and will be even more so if it means putting off a child. Thank-you!
