very confused with results

Thanks in advance - I am 32 yo - 2 full terms pregnancies - 2 daughters 6yo and 2yo. - history of pap atypia 9 years ago - biopsy confirmed atypia - had cryo - (not sure of details of biopsy result - but wasn't dysplasia "yet") - normal paps past 7 years.

Last May I had an ASCUS which was sent for HPV testing and was told negative for "high risk HPV on sample". Told to re-pap in 6 months - Re-pap came back as LGSIL - no HPV test done on this sample - I was sent for colposcopy and the dr. saw one spot to biopsy and result was "chronic active cervicitis" and the ECC that was performed was "benign". I am confused as to why all the results are so different from each other. (I also had dr. test for all STD's and infections that might cause inflammation and all came back negative)

I was told to just return to annual screening. I'm not sure I feel comfortable with this and all the mismatched results have me a bit worried as to their accuracy. I will be trying to get an appointment with a new dr. because although I feel quite comfortable with my current dr. I feel that they are too laxed in some of their protocols. I did not recieve a call as to the results of either my pap or biopsy until 2 months after each test - I feel that is too long.

What do you recommend for follow-up so I have an idea as to what to ask of a new dr. - Thank you so very much.
