43 year old taking Microgestin Fe needs advice-Please DR. onlyFrom: kcee (anonymous@obgyn.net)Sun, 23 Feb 2003 20:57:12 -0600 (CST)
I'll be quick and to the point. I am 43, two teenage daughters, with a history of stage 4 endometriosis-found after a endometrioma was removed on my ovary two years ago. I had 2 ASCUS paps in a row, neg. endometrial biopsy, and finally a LEEP last spring. My paps are now normal. I am taking microgestin FE l/20 tablet now for 4 months to help control bleeding. My dr. said it will take several months for things to work. Here it is the end of the 4th month and I am spotting and cramping like a week before I am due my period. (which by the way are normal and on schedule) At my age, should I continue taking the RX? I do know a hysterectomy is in the future. I am holding on as long as possible though. Thanks for any advice.
