-------------------------------------------------------------------------------- GYN is away-I have questions. Since early Dec., I have had a groin cyst -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- that fills up and breaks. It did not go completely down, -I&D - 2 wks -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ago. HX of these and sometimes have sac out. Early Dec., - Ceftin for 10 days. After that , I was away and the cyst filled- I had a Z-pac with me so I started that, hot packed and it broke, but did not empty completely... so I&D and another Z-pac. Past 3 weeks- L back around the waist and into the front has been painful. No other symptoms over bladder or frequency. I am worried about my kidney. My GYN ordered a routine urine and culture. I have a Hx of kidney stones and I had a scope surgery for bladder Burch suspension about 5 years ago- bled from the port site into the back on that side- had a drain- was told after that I have adhesion pain- IVP was good at THAT time. My routine did not show protein or RBC's. Nurse called me- culture was positive for Group B strep.( they called less thn 24 hrs. after I dropped it off.) I was put on Ampicillin TR 500mg BID for 7 days. I assume the NP ordered for me. Now I have vaginal itching. Is that a usual urine type infection? Could that Strep have been in the cyst? I can't believe I have any infection after all that medicine. My daughter- in- law is pregnant- could I be a carrier( throat) and transfer this to her( when they leave I always kiss them bye.) I appreciate your help-thanks-Anne
