If you don't mind me interjecting here, sex will be the same for you as it was before--- For me, it was better! No pain, no soreness! Contrary to popular wives tales, it doesn't change,. For some who have had nerve damage[RARE},it can, for some, the dryness associated with vaginal tissues can be an issue at times. However, both can be dealt with. For those rare folks that don't really want one in the first place AND have emotional issues surrounding it, they can have a hard time too. I was happy to be rid of the pain, and so I wanted mine! For those who are 'slightly smaller' and too tight afterwards[with vaginal hyster], this too can be helped by massaging the area after every urination with KY jelly. Gently and slowly. This prepares the tissues for movement and suppleness. Please don't do this until approved by your dr. I was too tight after, and sore,...dr rec this to me, Really helped. There is a terrific site you might enjoy[rec by the folks here too!] at http://www.hystersisters.com They were wonderful all through mine. Told me what to expect, what to do if this or that happens., etc.,.. Just a bunch of women who have been there, and are very helpful. Best of luck. It really isn't as bad as our nerves can say it is. Remember...everyone in that OR room is there FOR YOU. To keep you safe, to keep you warm, and to attend to your needs. It really helped my attitude to concentrate on that. Be well.
