I had a D & C to stop very heavy bleeding and extremely large clotting . I am 45 years old, always had regular periods-but very painful periods and extreme bloating . I've never been on birth control, have two teenage children. (I had a bad fall two years ago, and not as active as I was) The pathology reported minute fragment of endometrial polyp. proliferative endo with extensive stromal breakdown and surface metaplastic changes. My gyn very much advises me to follow-up with Birth Control for 2 cycles and then sono check again...Is this advisable? what is a stromal breakdown? Metaplastic changes? Proliferative endometrium? Thank You.
