Coming of the pill

My wife has recently come off the pill accidentally, after taking it for 11 years. She is 26 and in the past has been treated for anxiety/depression. Since coming of the pill she seems a different person and is taking it out all on me. I have been with her for 7 years and living with her for over 5 and she has never threatened to leave but is now living (temporarily I hope) with a friend. No one can reason with her - is this a side effect from lack of estrogen or could it be symptoms of S.A.D or something else? Her doctor has recommended she goes back on the pill, but has no idea of any relationship problem - Please help.
