Feeling CervixFrom: Christine (anonymous@obgyn.net)Sun, 16 Feb 2003 07:19:24 -0600 (CST)
Last evening I was inserting a boric acid capsule into my vagina while standing. While doing so, I felt an enlongated kind of tube that had an end to it which was round and had a dimple in the middle--much like the cervix is described. Two things that bothered me: 1 - my index finger was not in very far--only up to the second knuckle which is about 1 1/2 inches. 2 - it wasn't just the end of what I think was the cervix. I could reach past this thing and kind of run my finger around this elongated structure. Is this my cervix? It feels very prominent. I am just past ovulation, am 39 years old and have had two children. Could this be why it feels so obvious? Yes, I do see my GYN regularly and there are never any abnormalities--I guess this kind of shocked me because I haven't really felt this before. Thanks Christine
