Marchbein, M.D.: "Re: annal fissure" I gave birth three months ago to a baby boy and since then I have very sharp pain whenever I have a bowel movement. I thought it was hemorrhoids and tried every ointment and suppositories, I saw a surgeon last week who said it’s a fissure. He just gave me a laxative-softner product to see if it heals by itself. I would like to know if there are other treatment and is the surgery an option while I’m breasfeeding.
