Postsurgical Chronic Infection Colporrhaphy Posterior Repair/HysterectomyFrom: DG (anonymous@obgyn.net)Sat, 15 Feb 2003 08:52:18 -0600 (CST)
Hello: Thank you for your time. I had a total hysterectomy and colporrhaphy in 1997. During the 6 month period following the surgery I was on strong antibiotics due to a postsurgical yeast infection. Having no further symptoms I assumed the infection had cleared however everytime I have blood work done I am told that I have a yeast infection. For the past 5 years, everytime I am prescribed antibiotics the infection gets worse. I never even know I have an infection until I begin taking the antibiotics at which time symptoms occur. Could you please tell me what type of doctor may be able to track the cause of the infection and clear it completely? Any help would be very much appreciated. Thank you.
