trying again?

I have just recently gone through a miscarriage. One week ago exactly. I started bleeding out of the blue so my husband and I went to the doctor to check things out. I was 12 weeks pregnant. To make a long story much shorter, they found out it was a threatened miscarriage, got an internal ultrasound and discovered my baby died at 6 weeks. This was very hard for us to handle as we were sooo looking forward to this baby. It was going to be our first. I'm 23 years old and my husband is 25. Anyhow, I received a D&C about 5 days ago which was hard but good. I've been bleeding pretty regularly since then but my period stopped yesterday afternoon. We're going to see my doctor on Friday afternoon (feb. 14th) but there's a question I need to know now. When can we start trying again? We really want to try to conceive asap but are not sure when it is safe to begin. Now that it seems I've stopped bleeding, is it alright to start trying? I've heard that women are most fertile right after a miscarriage. Is this true? Is it possible to conceive in the next couple of weeks? Please give me a couple answers or some advice. Thanks so much...

Aching but moving on... Steph
