2nd post...Ovarian Cyst Rupture or Torsion?From: Taylor (anonymous@obgyn.net)Sun, 9 Feb 2003 11:50:28 -0600 (CST)
Hi, I have a ? about ovarian cyst rupture and ovarian torsion. I am 27 y/o. Hx: supracervical hysterectomy - still have both ovaries and cervix. For the past year or so, I always have pain in my pelvic area due to ovarian cysts. Most of the time the cysts on my ovaries are about 5X3, complex masses and usually begin to degenerate after 2 cycles. I am used to this pain and it is usually minimal and comes and goes throughout my cycle. However, this cycle is different. I had U/S 2 weeks ago. Left ovary measured 6X5X4. Complex cyst found and tech said it looked like it was about to start hemorrhaging. Well, today I have had a stabbing pain on my left side of pelvis and it radiates to my back in left flank area. It comes and goes. I feel it when sitting and walking. It is much more severe than in the past. My question is should I get it checked or just wait and see as I always have done? Also, could this be just a rupture of the cyst on left ovary or signs of ovarian torsion? Please someone help! I don't want to wait too long if it is serious. Thanks.
