Amanda, I've NEVER heard of nystatin used for bacterial vaginosis- it's more appropriate for yeast infections. I'm not a doctor, but I think your pharmacist sounds more knowledgeable than the ER doc, who generally know very little about gynecology. What test did he use to diagnose BV? Do you have your own OB/GYN? This is who you should call, rather than going to the ER. While you are waiting for a doctor here to answer (which could take a while) check the archives. The question of treating bv in pregnancy has come up many, many times. And to re-assure you, please don't worry. Although bv is very annoying, it's NOT an infection! It's actually an imbalance of the bacteria normally found in your vagina. It also doesn't cause miscarriages.
