She may be referring to Miacalcin. To the best of my knowledge, this is used to treat osteoporosis, but perhaps there are times when it's appropriate to treat osteoarthritis. I'm not a medical professional , but I think this drug is a synthetic thyroid hormone that somehow regulates calcium moving from blood to bone. Hope this helps.
