To the best of my knowledge, this is used to treat osteoporosis, but perhaps there are times when it's appropriate to treat osteoarthritis. I'm not a medical professional , but I think this drug is a synthetic thyroid hormone that somehow regulates calcium moving from blood to bone. Hope this helps.
