[Birth Control] Ortho Tricyclene and nitrofurantoin

I have been on the pill (Ortho tricyclene) for 4 years and with in the past year have been getting cronic UTI's. My Dr. prescribed me nitrofurantoin to take after intercourse as a preventative. Since it appears that I'll be on the medication for a long period of time would it be best to start a new form of birth control or will the pill still be effective? What forms of birth control are not inhibited by antibiotics (other than condoms)?
