Alesse and 26 day cycle??

I have almost finished my 4th pack of Alesse and have been having the same problem. I need to know if Alesse's effectiveness is being compromised. Here's the situation:

1st pack...took my last active pill and started my period that night (Sat.) 2nd pack...started period Friday with one last active pill remaining for Sat. 3rd pack...started period Thurs. night with two active pills remaining for Fri. & Sat. 4th pack...started period Tues. night with active pills remaing thru Sat. This is this week!!

I'm on my second full day of my period today and still have active pills left to take!!! What will happen next week, when my period is over and I'm taking the placebos?? Will I still be protected if I continue my pack as it is and just hope it straightens itself out with another month or two? Or, should I do something different, like just skipping the plcebos and going on with the fifth pack after the actives are finished in the pack I'm taking now? Or, should I just go to the Dr. again? This is the only problem I am having with Alesse. And last question, if I go on to discuss this with my Dr...would Yasmin be a good replacement. It's another lower dose pill...would that help my problem??

Sorry this is so long. Thanks for any advice!!!! Casey
