Spotting, crampss, and lower back pain during BreastfeedingFrom: Michele (anonymous@obgyn.net)Thu, 30 Jan 2003 08:57:26 -0600 (CST)
Hi, My son is 9 months old. I am breastfeeding him, but he also has a lot of other supplementary foods as well. I have not begun my period yet. Two weeks ago, I had a very small amount of spotting. I also had a lot of lower back pain and some cramps, both mild and sharp. The back pain and cramps have lasted on and off for the past two weeks. I though I may be pregnant, but a test came back negative. Yesterday I had some very light spotting again and today the bleeding is more regular, but very light. Is it normal to have spotting before your period begins after breastfeed or it something I should be concerned about? If anyone has any thoughts, please let me know.
