I have a few questions regarding 5-hydroxytryptophan (5 htp ) Do any of the medical professionals know if a 50 or 100mg capsule of 5htp can be broken so a smaller dosage can be taken, because I cannot find a smaller dosage to start with? Is there a problem with cutting it or is it OK? I am aware that some meds should not be broken down because their effectiveness is totally lost when that's done. I am aware that I have antibodies to serotonin and I would like to take some 5htp to help me out with the 'blues' I've been feeling. I am also aware that a few years back there were some bottles of contaminated 5 htp. Currently, is there a brand in europe that it is safe to take? Are there trustworthy companies either in europe or US that I can contact to purchase some?
