[Birth Control] Changing my Start Date for the Birth Control PillFrom: Sue (anonymous@obgyn.net)Thu, 23 Jan 2003 07:29:47 -0600 (CST)
Hello, I've been on Diane 35 for 6 months now. I'm supposed to start my pack of pills Today (Thurs, Jan 23, 2003) - it's always on Thursdays that I start a new pack of pills and I HATE it because I almost always forget. I want to move my 'Start Day' to a Sunday. I was thinking that there's two ways I could do this..... 1) I could wait and take my first pill tomorrow so I then have Fridays as my start day. Next month I could do the same thing: wait a day and have Saturday as my Start Day. I would need to do so for the next 3 months I would be slowly pushing back my Start Day to Sunday..... but I know there's some risk that the pill won't be as effective so I should use other birth control methods too :( OR.. 2) I could take my first pill today and then at the end of this pack, I could take 3 pills from a new pack for 3 extra days. That would push back my period and, in effect, change my Start Day. There may be less risk of getting pregnant this way but... I would be wasting the rest of the second pack of pills and potentially messing up my body by taking more pills in one cycle than I should be. Any suggestions??? Thanks
